Lowell

Dubbed a “friendly town with friendly people,” Lowell boasts modern amenities amidst rolling farmland.

Lowell offers a small-town feel with a rich history and excellent shopping. The downtown district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is filled with historic displays, shops, and locally owned restaurants. The quaint town is known for its many antique shops and thrift stores, beckoning those who seek one-of-a-kind items.

The community’s Labor Day Parade is the longest running parade in Indiana, bringing residents and visitors together annually. The weekend festival has woodworking and crafts, as well as food vendors, live music, and a beer garden.

Freedom Park is a popular spot for outdoor recreation. Its 140 acres are complete with volleyball courts, soccer fields, a disc golf course, a skate park, and a bark park that was once recognized as one of the best in the country by Dog Fancy magazine.

Buckley Homestead is approximately 575 acres and serves as a living history farm with live animals, an old-fashioned school house, and an old barn that puts the entire homestead on the National Register of Historic Places. The homestead offers seasonal hayrides, hiking and horse trails, and special events.

Less than an hour’s drive from downtown Chicago, Lowell is accessible via I-65, I-90, and I-94.
