Located within the Albany Park community area, Ravenswood Manor is a registered historic district on the north side of Chicago. It is bordered by the Chicago River and Sacramento, Montrose and Lawrence Avenues.
Developed during the early 20th century, Ravenswood Manor is primarily a residential neighborhood. Its quiet streets are lined with bungalows and American Four Square homes, with numerous properties along the river and many featuring their own docks. While several homes have subtle limestone accents and elegantly carved wood front doors that add charm, each home is distinctly unique. Green leafy trees edge the properties and well-maintained sidewalks line the grid of residential avenues. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
Just east of Ravenswood Manor you will find the widely known neighborhood of Lincoln Square, where locals love a rich culinary scene that includes everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to a farmers market. Neighborhood boutiques, restaurants and shops are largely locally-owned.
The community has a number of ever-popular restaurants and bars, and Lincoln Avenue offers an eclectic mix of sophisticated eateries, corner cafes and favorite neighborhood hangouts.
Lincoln Square’s lively cultural scene includes the Old Town School of Folk Music as well as annual festivals such as the Square Roots festival.
