North Chicago

The City of North Chicago is located on the shores of Lake Michigan, and is just a short commute to downtown.

Incorporated in 1901, North Chicago is the proud home of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, the largest training facility of its kind for enlisted Navy personnel.

Foss Park District is the oldest park district in Lake County, and features baseball and soccer fields, playgrounds, sports courts, and a golf course. The community center provides recreational opportunities and year-round programming.

Situated within the urban expanse of North Chicago, Greenbelt provides residents with ample green space, several miles of trails, and an array of flora and fauna to explore. Additionally, the Greenbelt Cultural center hosts community events and educational programs, as well as a farmers market.

Residents are served by Metra’s Union Pacific North line, which offers daily service to Ogilvie Transportation Center.
