The Village of Gilberts offers residents a thriving, tight-knit community that continues to grow while maintaining a quaint, small-town feel.
Just an hour northwest of Chicago, Gilberts is traversed by Interstate 90 and Illinois Route 72, providing easy commuter access. The area is known for its neighborhoods of new construction single-family homes situated on ample plots of land throughout the rolling hillsides of Kane County. When it comes to recreation, Gilberts is surrounded by 1,200 acres of forest preserves, parks, and trails, along with plenty of green space and amenities including baseball diamonds, basketball courts, soccer fields, playgrounds, fishing ponds, and pavilion space for picnicking.
The spirit of community is enhanced by several events celebrated annually. Community Days is Gilberts’ largest event and provides the chance for residents and visitors to gather in Town Center Park each June for live music, food booths, a car show, and a beer garden. The annual Trick or Treating and Tree Lighting Ceremony are a festive way for Gilberts’ residents to celebrate holidays with one another. Other popular happenings are the village-wide garage sale held each June, Movies in the Park at Town Square Park throughout the summer, and the Bonfire in Memorial Park in October. Gilberts proudly maintains prominent traditions that remain an important part of its foundation.
