I have loved spending the last 50 years living between Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire and Wheeling. I'm very happy to have grown up here and equally as proud that my 3 children have. Whether coaching them and their friends in youth baseball, soccer, or helping them with their Stevenson homework, I enjoyed every minute!
After graduating Deerfield High School in 1980, I moved forward with a bachelor’s in Economics from Illinois State University. From there, I found an exciting career trading at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for 28 years where I specialized in lumber futures that are used in building homes. I have been keeping an eye on interest rates, housing starts, new home sales, existing home sales, single family and multi-family units and lumber supply/demand issues for a long time. It's been very rewarding.
People's lives change. Sometimes we downsize our homes because we've become "empty nesters". The children finish college wanting their own space to buy or rent. They grow up some more and get married and buy a single family home. Maybe your new job or retirement could have you living in a different zip code. All kinds of moves happen for all kinds of reasons. I've been there.
I've helped realtors sell my homes in the past couple years. Whether having rooms redecorated and improved for sale, or just walking through with realtors and explaining all the details of the homes I was so proud of. But buying or selling a home is not just clicking on a website and saying this is what I want. You would be surprised how many meetings, appointments, and various jobs are scheduled along your journey into a new home. I understand that it's not easy to make big changes in your life. If you're moving from the city to the suburbs or buying that first home that you really want, I would be proud to help with your transition.
