Don sold real estate for eight years before joing the @properties management team as Managing Broker for the Evanston Office. While he sold, he offered his clients the highest level of service, insightful information about the market, and absolute confidentiality. Whether dealing with first-time homes buyers or experienced sellers, each client deserves and gets unmatched attention.  Today his "clients" are the brokers in his office and other North Suburban offices. Don is a huge proponent of learning, knowing and communicating the "Best Practices" in this industry. He is dedicated to helping each broker realize his or her potential, to helping each master the complexities of real estate sales and to helping the people in his office have fun in this challenging business.

Don's Background
Trained in classic consumer packaged goods marketing, new product launches and online advertising, he provided his real estate clients with proprietary decision-making information (statistical comparisons and trend analyses), innovative marketing plans and execution. His experience launching new products helped him market his listings effectively in the very competitive Evanston and Wilmette markets.

He also has extensive online/website experience: His internet marketing campaigns had extraordinary response rates as he led his company's entry to the online sales program for credit monitoring membership programs. He later led the launch of www.consumerguide.com, a highly successful, Chicago-based  consumer information and ecommerce website. On that project he was the Director of Channel Strategy and Information Architect. Don brought this experience and practical knowledge of the online marketplace to his real estate business.

He also had a busy career in small business consulting. He focused on products, sales channels and marketing messages. Today that experience enables him to quickly assess his brokers' business issues and to identify solutions that are practical.

Born in New York and a life-long Yankees, Giants and Rangers fan, he is now a 30 year resident of the North Shore (Wilmette and Evanston). He and his wife Mindy, an @agent in the Winnetka office, raised their three children here.  (Word has it he has come to enjoy Cubs and Blackhawks games!)

Education and Designations    Don is a graduate of Georgetown University (College of Arts and Sciences), the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University) and he holds a GRI-1 designation in real estate.   Local Area Involvement    Don has been an active volunteer in the community and Midwest region for over 20 years.  Beginning in 2002 he was been the team leader for the New Trier High School Sailing Team, one of the most successful sports teams at the high school and in the nation.
From 2003 to 2010 Don served as President of the Midwest High School Sailing Association (www.missa.net) – an elected position he held for over 8 years. During that time he also served as Secretary for the Board of Directors of the national governing body for high school sailing in the US, the Interscholastic Sailing Association (www.highschoolsailingusa.org). He also represented the Midwest region on the Board. In September 2010 he was elected by the Board of Directors to be President of ISSA. After his term he continued on with the high school organization and today participates as an At-Large Member of the Board.

Prior to becoming involved with high school sailing, Don coached soccer, baseball and lacrosse in Wilmette.
